About Our Business
Remington Designs has a wide arrangement of
various hand made jewelry, made mainly with Gold fill (Gold-filled jewelry
"also called Gold Overlay" is composed of a solid layer of gold bonded
with heat and pressure, to a base metal such as brass. Some high quality
gold-filled pieces have the look, luster, and beauty of 14 karat (58%) gold.
10kt and 14kt are also common karatages. Gold filled items, even with
daily wear, can last five to 30 years . The gold layer on gold plated jewelry
varies greatly depending on manufacturer, so there is no single, simple
comparison. Gold-filled items are 50 to 100,000 times thicker than regular
gold plating, and 17 to 25,000 times thicker than heavy gold electroplate.)
and Sterling Silver. It is also possible to have items made in 14k Gold, but
they would have to be custom ordered and paid for in advanced. We also
carry a wide selection of semiprecious stones, fresh water pearls,
Swarovski crystals and Czech pressed glass.

Drusy, druse, druzy, drusies - different spellings, but they all mean tiny
quartz crystals that form within or on the surface of other stones.

When ground water carrying dissolved silica is forced into a porous area
of the rock, rapid cooling often occurs, causing the formation of tiny
crystals on the surfaces or in cavities of the rock. The clear crystals often
form on top of previously deposited minerals. This is called a drusy. Some
minerals found in this form are:

Titanium drusy is agate drusy that has been coated with titanium in a
vacuum chamber. It produces a permanent metal coating in spectacular
shades of bright, dark blue or an iridescent white.

All items displayed were made by Remington.
It is possible that the items displayed are sold, but a variation of a similar

Artist's Bio

Remington is originally from a small
country in South-America called
Suriname.  In October of 2005 he
started to have a passion for
jewelry making.  Although
Remington has always been artistic
and creative, and has always loved
to wear jewelry, he never thought
he would be creating it.  However
one day, while looking at various
pieces Remington said to himself, "I
can do that too."  And after
acquiring a few supplies,
Remington got started.  You might
say that his talent came naturally.
Remington puts all of his passion,
spirituality and creativity in his
work.  He hopes you will love and
enjoy his designs. He would love to
get any feed-back
